About JessieI am the mommy of three children, born in 2000, 2003 and 2006. Since my first child was born, I have been in awe of the miracle that is childbirth. I am a work at home mom, teaching Birthing 101 classes in Spring Hill, TN and offering wellness seminars in the middle Tennessee area through my herbal consulting business, Vintage Remedies. I write the natural living column for TEACH magazine, have two published books, so far. (Silverleaf Press 2007), and wrote the curriculum for the Vintage Remedies School of Natural Health Family Herbalist program.
My vision with Birthing 101 is to educate new mommies and daddies with the tools they need to obtain the birth experience they desire. I have seen too many moms head into the delivery room with no help and little birthing education only to exit with an outcome different than they expected simply because they were uninformed or unprepared. Having three natural births of my own, all of which were wonderful experiences, though hardly "by the book", I know birthing can be a wonderful and memorable experience, one that will never be forgotten.
Birthing 101 uses a curriculum that encompasses not only the ideal birth but how to obtain it even when things do not progress as expected. With a focus on natural birth and choosing the least interventions, these classes prepare moms and dads to give truly informed consent to any procedures they receive.
